Light vehicle maintenance workshop

Light vehicle maintenance workshop is well-organized and has a capacity to repair/ maintaining 35 vehicles per day. The main objective of establishing this workshop is to stabilize the market by performing a wide range of maintenance works (Vehicles of different brands) in a cost-effective manner. This workshop will perform electrical and mechanical maintenance and will have 38 qualified technicians to do this maintenance. In addition to the corporation, the workshop is maintaining the vehicles of 10 different organizations at the moment and is carrying out repairs worth 3.5 to 4 million birr per month.
East Africa Holdings, ECC Ink Cooperation Agreement

East Africa Holdings and the Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation signed an accord that enable the two parties cooperate in supply of construction inputs and other construction endeavors.
East Africa Holdings Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Biru Woldie and Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation Chief Executive Officer, Engineer Yonas Ayalew signed the agreement on behalves of their organizations.
After signing the accord, Mr. Biru said the agreement will enable the East African Holdings to supply quality and immense cement from National and Lemi Cement Manufacturing Factories as the corporation remains to be the largest construction firm in the country.
East African Holdings would benefit a lot from the cooperation since the corporation has valuable experience in engineering fields, project management spheres, and in manufacturing construction inputs, the CEO said.
Engineer Yonas also said the corporation, which has been utilizing national cement previously, will be able to construct concrete roads in the future since the installation of the Lemi Cement Manufacturing Factory curbed the scarcity of cement nationwide.
Tyre-recycling plant launches trial production

A tyre-recycling plant, which is established by the joint venture of the Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation (ECC) and the Rising Hongfa Plc., has begun trial production as of 18 Dec. 2024.
Plan and production manager, Eng. Kidus Woldemariam said the plant that extracts fibers, cuts, and shreds used-tyres of the corporation has a capacity of producing 600 kilograms of rubber powder daily.
The plant, which is the first of its kind in Ethiopia, will be manufacturing rubber bricks, rally tracks, pedestrian tiles, and children playground up on going fully operational, Eng. Kidus said.
The plant, which is installed on the premise of the Kality industry zone of the corporation, has created job opportunities to more than 30 citizens so far.
Deputy PM Visits Corporation’s Industry Zone

Deputy Prime Minister of FDRE, Honorable Temesgen Tiruneh visited on 13 Dec. 2024 the industry zone of the Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation (ECC), which is located at Akaki Kality Sub-city of the Addis Ababa City Administration.
After the visitation, Temesgen said he has witnessed the corporation is undertaking a wide-range of activities in a bid to become one of the three top most construction and manufacturing companies in Africa as per its vision and mission.
Temesgen, who is also the Board Chairman of the Ethiopian Investment Holdings, said the reform programs and the overall activities of the corporation indeed signaled Ethiopia’s prosperity. He also expressed his strong belief that the corporation will shortly begin manufacturing quality and immense construction inputs for local and international markets.
Attending the presentation of the Chief Executive Officer of the Corporation, Engineer Yonas Ayalew, Deputy PM said the corporation can be a testimonial for ensuring better working environment, best project management system, improving human resource administration and enhancing profit, production and productivity.
Flexi Flume Factory

Flexi Flume Factory was established in 2007 by the former Ethiopian Water Works Enterprise to meet the flexi flume needs of sugar factories. However, due to various reasons the factory stopped production and lost its focus in the years prior to 2016.
During the establishment of Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation (ECC) in 2016 amalgamating three different government institutions and the start of implementing organizational reform in 2018, the revival of Flexi Flume Factory operations and production ignited.
Currently, the Factory is producing various sizes of soil and grain bags, canvases for protection of various construction sites, and pipes for irrigation. It is also working to produce and substitute imported soil fertilizer and grain bags domestically and save foreign exchange.
Currently, the Flexi Flume factory has six machines, and each machine produces 18,000 bags of soil fertilizers and 18,000 sheets per day. It also produces 255 KG of laminated PP per hour and 3,000 Flexi Flume pipes per hour.
Organization Leaders, Prominent Engineers Provide Lectures to CPDI Trainees

President of the World Federation of Engineers Organizations (WFEO), Federation of African Engineers Organizations (FAEO) and other prominent engineers in the engineering fields of studies provided lectures to trainees of the Construction Professionals Development Institute (CPDI) of the Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation (ECC).
WFEO President, Engineer Mustafa Balarabe Shehu and FAEO President, Kazawadi Papias Dedeki, Professor P.D. Rwalamila of the South Africa University (UNISA) and Engineer Yoftahe Yohannes provided lectures on several topics of the construction industry to future project managers of the corporation, who are currently enrolled in CPDI of the corporation.
Leaders and prominent engineers provided lectures on “Occupational Development in Engineering”, “Enterprise GPS and 6Ms for Enhanced Productivity”, “The GACI: Innovative Solutions for Brighter Future” and “Future Thinking Skills to Drive Project Value” respectively to more than 35 trainees via face-to-face while others took part in the lecture through zoom technology.
ECC Chief Executive Officer, Engineer Yonas Ayalew made a keynote address at the opening of the two-day lectures conducted through face-to-face and online at the paradise hall of the corporation.
