Mayor inaugurates new fountain in Akaki kality Sub-City

Addis Ababa Mayor Adanech Abebe officially inaugurated a newly constructed fountain in Akaki Kality Sub-City, an initiative led by the Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation (ECC). This new public amenity aims to enhance the recreational and aesthetic appeal of the area.
In her remarks, Mayor Adanech Abebe highlighted the fountain as part of a broader effort by the city administration to beautify Addis Ababa and improve livability. She noted that this development complements ongoing corridor projects and reflects the collaborative efforts of both private and government entities.
Mayor Adanech also acknowledged similar contributions by Brothers Construction and Asser Construction, who funded and built fountains under the Bole Rwanda Bridge, further enhancing public spaces for residents' enjoyment.
Expressing her gratitude, the Mayor thanked ECC, Brothers Construction, and Asser Construction for their commitment to urban improvement. She encouraged other private and government organizations to follow these kinds of exemplary efforts and contribute to making the city more comfortable and appealing for its residents.
ECC celebrates graduation of 76 future project managers

The Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation (ECC) proudly graduates 76 future project managers in a ceremony attended by key dignitaries and officials.
The graduation event was graced by Honorable Engineer Aisha Mohamed, Minister of Defense and Chairperson of the Corporation's Board; Honorable Abdurrahman Eid Tahir, Chief Executive Officer of Ethiopian Investment Holdings; Engineer Yonas Ayalew, CEO of the ECC; along with other government officials, leaders of the corporation, and the graduates' families.
In her speech, Engineer Aisha Mohamed emphasized the importance of the graduates' roles. She highlighted that their new skills would significantly benefit the corporation by enhancing project quality, meeting deadlines, and adapting to modern construction technologies. She stressed that these graduates will become crucial internal assets for the Corporation’s projects.
Engineer Yonas Ayalew, CEO of the Corporation, announced that three of the 76 graduates were Kenyans who received scholarships. He described the training program, which spanned eight months, as a pivotal development in project management. Furthermore, the CEO expressed optimism that graduates will elevate the corporation's influence both across Africa and globally.
ECC Plants 1,000 seedlings in landslide-affected area

In a commendable effort to aid the recovery and restoration of a landslide-affected region, the Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation (ECC) has planted 1,000 saplings in Kencho Shaka Gozdi Kebele, Gofa District, Gofa Zone. This initiative follows their recent humanitarian aid to the same area.
The planting event saw leaders and employees of the corporation actively participating in the reforestation effort. The corporation's representatives emphasized that this green initiative aims to protect and restore the local ecosystem, which is crucial in reducing the likelihood of future natural disasters such as landslides.
By investing in reforestation, the corporation seeks not only to provide immediate relief but also to contribute to long-term environmental stability and resilience in the affected region.
ECC provides over 5 million birr worth aid to landslide victims

In response to the devastating landslide in Kencho Shaka Gozdi Kebele, Geze Gofa District, Gofa Zone, the Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation (ECC) has extended substantial humanitarian support valued at more than 5 million birr.
The aid package includes 350 bags of 50 kg flour, 550 pieces 5 liters of oil, 200 bags of 25 kg macaroni, and 5,150 bars of soap. This generous contribution aims to assist those affected by the recent disaster, providing critical food and hygiene supplies to the victims.
The support was presented by high-ranking officials of the corporation: Engineer Bement Gashaw Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Water Infrastructure Construction Sector, Engineer Wegen Solomon Chief Officer of the Project Development and Management Center, Engineer, and Mr. Tanu Gebre, Chief Officer of ECC’s Southern Branch.
In addition to delivering the aid, the corporation's leaders and 60 employees from various departments traveled to the disaster site to offer their condolences and solidarity.
Mr. Mulye Fitie, Manager of the Social Affairs and Work Environment Safety Department, emphasized the corporation's commitment to supporting the community in the wake of the tragedy. This significant act of generosity underscores the corporation's dedication to humanitarian efforts and community support.
Strategic management performance review completes

The corporation's strategic management reviews Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation’s (ECC’s) 2016, which was held for two days at the corporation's project management center of excellence meeting hall.
The performance report was presented and evaluated and it shows that the corporation's financial performance was more than 100%. Figuratively; ECC’s plan was to collect 11 billion birr and performed accordingly.
During the performance appraisal meeting it was stated that the result was achieved not only because of the working units performed as expected, but also because the industrial zone of the corporation performed at its full potential.
The CEO of the corporation, Engineer Yonas Ayalew, said in his concluding remarks that the corporation has achieved better physical and financial performance than in previous years and thanked all the leaders and workers of the corporation for their efforts to achieve this success.
Corporation signs an agreement with Derba Cement Factory

Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation signed a cement supply agreement with Derba Cement Factory in the presence of Honorable Dr. Abraham Lai, Minister of Irrigation and Lowland Environment of EFDR.
The Corporation has entered into an agreement with the Ministry of Irrigation and Lowland Environment and has signed a cement supply agreement with Derba Cement Factory in order to enable continuous and uninterrupted supply of cement for the projects under construction.
On behalf of the corporation, Engineer Wegem Solomon, Executive Director of the Corporation's Project Management Center of Excellence, signed, and on behalf of Derba Cement Factory, Engineer Haile Asegdie, Executive Director of Derba Cement Factory, signed the agreement.
