
ECC signs an MoU with Casa D'Argilla FZE

The Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation (ECC) signs a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Casa D'Argilla FZE to introduce 3D concrete printing technology in Ethiopia, marking a groundbreaking first for Africa.
The purpose of the MoU is to implement advanced 3D concrete printing technology so as to boost quality, efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
The initiative taken by the two parties aims to revolutionize the local construction industry through the introduction of affordable and rapid housing solutions.
The MoU was signed by Engineer Yonas Ayalew, CEO of ECC, and Mr. Roland Jansen, Founder of Casa D'Argilla FZE.

ECC finalizes the project work

The construction of the Kolfe Keranio Sub-City, Woreda 2 Health Center project, which was being carried out by the Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation (ECC), has been fully completed and is now in the handover phase, according to Engineer Shemsu Dino, the project manager.
Engineer Shemsu explained that, the health center was built quickly, with high quality, and in a manner that meets expected standards, setting an example for others. He noted that the district administration and residents are pleased with the outcome.
The project manager emphasized that the success was achieved through robust planning, cautious preliminary preparation, intensive monitoring, support, and coordination, all of which played a significant role in the project's completion.
corporation celebrates World Engineering Day and International Women's Day

Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation (ECC) and Ethiopian Association of Civil Engineers(EACE), in collaboration, celebrated International Women's Day and World Engineering Day.
The event was attended by CEO of ECC, Engineer Yonas Ayalew; President of the Ethiopian Association of Civil Engineers, Engineer Ammanuel Mekonnen; Manager of EACE, Ms. Sonja Varga; Head of programme at the United Nations Office for Project Services horn of Africa multi country office, members of the Ethiopian Civil Engineers Association, and other invited guests.
During the program, research papers on empowering women in engineering, science, technology, and mathematics (STEM) fields, as well as on topics related to the construction of earthquake-resistant buildings, environmental concerns, workplace safety, and health were presented followed by discussions.

Concrete Roof Tile Factory Begins Trial Production

The concrete roof tile manufacturing factory, established within the Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation (ECWC) at the Industrial Village in kality, has commenced trial production.
When the factory operates at full capacity, it will be able to produce up to 2,500 roof tiles per day.

Rebar Cutting and Bending Workshop

The Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation has established a Rebar Cutting and Bending Workshop to supply necessary steel materials at a central level for various projects.
The workshop is responsible for cutting, bending, and adjusting rebar according to the quantity and schedule provided by the corporation’s work units and projects, ensuring that the steel is delivered to the respective projects where it will be utilized.
By centralizing the supply of cut and bent steel, the workshop has improved steel utilization, reduced waste, eliminated the time projects spend on cutting and bending, enabled efficient time management, created a convenient work environment, and ensured workplace safety.

Project at its final phase

Haile Garment Fruits and Vegetables Market Center construction project, which includes multiple buildings, warehouses, sheds, public restrooms, fencing, and other construction works, is reported to be in its final phase.
It has been stated that, apart from the internal asphalt road and electromechanical works currently underway at the center, other construction works have been completed.
