Over the past two years, the construction of the Yabelo City Bypass asphalt concrete road, which was being built by the Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation (ECWC), faced delays due to challenges in right of way. However, after the regional government resolved the issue, the construction has been completed, and the road is now open for service.

ECC Participates in Global Irrigation and Climate Resilience Conference

The Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation (ECC) is participating in the International Conference on Irrigation Development and Climate Resilient Productivity at Adwa Victory Memorial Museum in Addis Ababa.
The conference will run until February 14, 2025, with representatives from various countries in attendance. An exhibition showcasing irrigation works has also been opened for viewing.
At the conference and exhibition, ECC is showcasing its various products and services for irrigation and water works.

Training underway on ethical leadership

Ethics and Follow up Main Department of the Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation (ECC) in collaboration with the Federal Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (FEACC) is currently providing training to senior officials of the corporation under the theme ‘Ethical leadership for institutional successes’.
At the opening of the training, FEACC Deputy Commissioner Fekadu Seboka said, the training would have paramount importance to kindle anti-corruption struggle within the corporation as it is sector-focused and experience-centered.
Corporation CEO, Engineer Yonas Ayalew also said, the training would strengthen the fight against corruption as the training would equip the leadership with better understanding and information on the problem.
The on-going training, being provided in several rounds, would be given to other executive bodies and employees of the corporation.
ECC, Institute Ink Project Agreement

Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation (ECC) and the Manufacturing Industries Development Institute signed over 5.5 billion Birr project agreement that enable the former build 11 building blocks.
Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation Chief Executive Officer, Engineer Yonas Ayalew and Institute General Director Dr. Milkessa Jagema signed the agreement on 28 Jan 2025 on behalves of their organizations.
After signing the agreement, Engineer Yonas said the corporation, which is ISO certified and utilizing up-to-date building technologies, will be able to construct the building blocks as per the schedule and at the expected quality standards.
Construction Projects Control Room

Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation (ECC) has been undertaking human resource development, installation of up to date construction technologies, developing several new software, manufacturing different kinds of construction inputs for local and foreign markets and forging joint ventures with various counterparts during the last few years.
The corporation has organized project management center of excellence in a bid to enable the firm utilize state of the art construction technologies in the execution of construction projects. It also created a Construction Projects Control Room (Situation Room) in order to monitor and evaluate projects from a single room.
The situation room, which integrate digital technologies with 16 knowledge areas of project management system, has enabled the corporation improve project management system to a higher level.
The control room, which comprises various task teams, is equipped with different types of construction related software including Daily Performance Progress Report (DPPR), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Fleet Management System that enable construction experts monitor the performance of the various construction projects of the corporation on daily basis.
Heavy Vehicles Maintenance Workshop

Heavy vehicles maintenance department is one of the departments organized under the auspice of the Automotive and Machinery Maintenance Center of the Industry Management Sector of the corporation.
The Department, which is operating 24 hours a day, comprises three task teams including Heavy Vehicles Maintenance Team, Engine Maintenance Team, and Body Maintenance, Assembly and Painting Teams.
The car painting work, which is being undertaken by latest car painting technology (Car Booth), is the first of its king in Ethiopia. The department also carried out car re-assembly and created a special kind of tourist vehicle (Safari Bus) with its own human resource capacity.
The external customers of the department have reached 22 to date including the Ministry of Irrigation and Lowlands, Fire and Disaster Risk Management Commission, Government Communications Service and FDRE House of Peoples’ Representatives.
