Senior Officials of Ethiopian Federal Police Visit Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation

Senior officers from the Ethiopian Federal Police, led by Commissioner General Demelash Gebremichael, visited the Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation (ECC) at its Kality premises.
During their visit, the officials observed several key operations, including the technology-assisted Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), the daily performance management system, and Building Information Modeling (BIM) workshop, first of its kind in Africa. They also toured other ECC industries.
At the conclusion of the visit, Commissioner General Demelash expressed his satisfaction with the corporation’s leadership, praising ECC’s determination to execute projects that foster national pride and prosperity. "I am pleased to witness the dedication of the ECC in undertaking works that will make the nation proud," he remarked.
ECC CEO Engineer Yonas Ayalew reaffirmed the corporation’s commitment to its partnerships, particularly with the Federal Police Commission. "We approach the work for the police as if it were our own," he stated. He assured that ECC would deliver on all projects, including the ongoing construction of the Ethiopian Police University Leadership Excellence Academy in Sendafa City, a project valued at more than 2.7 billion birr, with the highest quality and within the agreed timelines.
The visit highlighted the collaborative efforts between the Ethiopian Federal Police and ECC in ensuring the successful completion of critical infrastructure projects.
Corporation set to implement ERP as of 2017 Ethiopian fiscal year

Human Resource Management Main Department of the Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation (ECC) announced plans to implement the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Soft-wares as of the 2017 Ethiopian budget year.
While opening an annual performance appraisal of the main department, Executive Officer Seife Mergia said on 20 Sep. 2024 the corporation will be implementing the ERP and other reform programs in a bid to efficiently utilize the human resource capacity of the corporation in the years ahead.
Executive bodies, team leaders and experts from the various human resource departments confer on the 2016 performance report of the main department and target areas of the main department during the current Ethiopian fiscal year.
Executive Officer of the Human Resource Management Main Department, Seife Mergia as well as the respective managers of the Human Resource Administration Department, Human Resource Development Department and Benefits and Payroll Administration Department managers namely Meles Geremew, Kassahun Woldegiorgis and Wubalem Tariku provided explanations to questions and suggestions raised by the participants of the meeting.
Corporation Provides Financial Support to the Center's Diners

Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation (ECWC) provided financial assistance of 5 thousand birr to each of 120 infirm and elderly diners of Tesifa Birhan Food Center for the 2017 Ethiopian New Year holiday, for a total of 600 thousand birr.
For the past three years, the corporation has been providing financial and in-kind support to up to 200 infirm and elderly residents of Yeka Sub-City Woreda 9 by providing lunch and tea and coffee every day, as well as providing financial and in-kind support for various festivals, according to the coordinator of the center, Ato Abrham Hirpo.

Residential Building for Low-Income Residents Inaugurated in Yeka Sub-City

A newly constructed residential building aimed at supporting low-income individuals in Yeka Sub-City, District 09, was officially inaugurated. The project, spearheaded by the Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation, was completed in a short time to provide much-needed housing and income-generating opportunities for vulnerable groups.
Prominent figures including FDRE Minister of Labor and Skills, Mrs. Muferiat Kamil, Addis Ababa Mayor Mrs. Adanech Abiebie, Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation CEO Engineer Yonas Ayalew, and Yeka Sub-City CEO Mr. Brehanu Reta attended the ceremony.
During the event, Mrs. Muferiat and Mrs. Adanech expressed their gratitude to the corporation for its commitment to helping low income residents. They highlighted the importance of such projects in fostering social inclusion and supporting low-income families.
The residential building includes a 4-storey residential block, a workshop, 14 shops, 24 studios, 10 one-bedroom apartments, and 20 two-bedroom apartments. With a total cost of 328.4 million birr, the project was funded 60% by the Ministry of Labor and Skills and 40% by the Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation. The initiative is part of a broader effort to fulfill the corporation's social responsibility towards low-income communities in Addis Ababa.
Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation Participates in African Cities Forum

The Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation is participating in the African Cities Forum, organized by Ethiopia for the first time. The forum is being held under the theme "Sustainable Urban Development for Africa's Transformation Agenda 2063," and coincides with the commemoration of Adwa Victory, where the corporation is promoting its products and services.
The forum includes notable attendees such as Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh, Addis Ababa Mayor Adanech Abiebie, representatives from over 47 African countries, mayors of African cities, religious leaders, elders, scholars, researchers, and other stakeholders.
In this forum, Ethiopian cities are sharing their experiences with African counterparts, and the Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation is actively participating in this forum.
ECC secures 11.8 billion birr in revenue

Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation (ECC) has secured over 11.8billion birr in revenue during 2016EFY.
Addressing an annual performance appraisal meeting held on 31 August 2024 Chief Executive Officer of the Corporation, Engineer Yonas Ayalew said the corporation has managed to obtain the stated sum during the last budget year.
He said the corporation amassed over 1.3 billion birr gross profit from the various construction and other business endeavors over the stated period, which is over 100 percent of its target set for the year.
The annual BSC average performance of the corporation reached 95.4 percent in the 2016 Ethiopian fiscal year.
